My Story

Guiding you with lived experience and therapeutic expertise

Hi, I’m Janice.

I’m a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor based in Vancouver.

My work is grounded in the belief that we don’t need to be “fixed.”

Most of us are adapting to things we learned early in life, how to stay safe, how to belong, how to be accepted.

Over time, those patterns can start to feel heavy, even if they once helped us survive.

My Journey:
From Struggle to Strength

My path to becoming a counsellor was personal. I didn’t arrive here through theory alone but through lived experience of loss, relationship changes, and periods of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and disconnected from myself.

There were times I held things together externally while struggling internally to understand what I was feeling.

Therapy, body-based practices, and supportive relationships helped me slow down and begin reconnecting with myself in a more honest and compassionate way.

Over time, I started to understand my own patterns more clearly , how I had adapted, over-functioned, and tried to stay okay in situations that didn’t always feel okay.

That process shifted how I relate to myself, and how I sit with others in this work.

I value depth, honesty, and slowness over fixing or rushing change.

This is ongoing work for me too , not something I see as finished.

A Space for Seekers, Brave Hearts & Deep Feelers

Many of the people who find their way to me are thoughtful, caring, and deeply self-aware. They often spend a lot of time taking care of others, questioning themselves, or carrying more than their share.

Some describe themselves as overthinkers, people-pleasers, helpers, or high achievers. Others feel disconnected from themselves and aren't quite sure how they got there.

Over the years, I've come to think of many of them as seekers, brave hearts, and deep feelers, people who are curious about themselves, willing to do the work, and longing for a deeper sense of connection, authenticity, and self-trust.
